When Imane Adijat (pseudonym) contacted Pastor Godswill Oyor, the founder of Zedekiah Money Train, on June 6, 2022, about his investment scheme, he boasted that he would return a 21 per cent interest within 90 days to his investors. This is August 2024, and she’s neither received the promised interest nor her N1 million capital.
Adijat told EQ that she was shocked that Pastor Oyor left his investors in limbo for a long time before showing signs that he had moved on, despite assuring them after he failed to pay that investors would get their money back.
She said she discovered Zedekiah Money Train after an acquaintance would not stop telling her about it. On June 6 2022, she contacted Pastor Oyor to learn more about the investment scheme.

She said the pastor sent her a Zoom link to a recorded video conference in which he explained what the investment was about. Afterwards, he sent her a message containing the company’s account number where she paid N500,000.
Adijat said that she paid another N500,000 in July 2022 to Pastor Oyor after he informed her about another package she could invest in, called ‘Autocruise’.
“Before I invested, he told me that the lowest amount I could invest with was N1 million, but I had to plead with him to let me join the cohort of investors because I could not afford a million naira at the time,” she said.

Adijat said she began to expect the fruits of her investments in September 2022, but this was when Pastor Oyor began feigning forgetfulness about the Autocruise package.
Adijat’s proof of investment
“Ever since, he has stopped taking my calls, a habit he did not exhibit in the past. I visited the address Pastor Godswill paraded as his office but found out he had left the office space since August 2022,” she said.
“I visited Pastor Godswill’s church on January 6, 2023, but did not meet him there because the police had arrested him. A lady in the church told me the police trailed Pastor Godswill to his house a few days before the start of 2023 and arrested him. Just like he did to me, he ignored this ‘powerful’ couple’s calls, and I guess that was what led to his incarceration.”
Another victim, Dorcas Eyitayo, an Ibadan-based nurse whose N500,000 is still with Pastor Oyor, said that she doubted the 21 per cent interest rate advertised by the pastor, but being a clergyman, she concluded he could not defraud her.

This thought has proven to be wide of the mark because she has continued to ask for a refund of her money, but to no avail.
Eyitayo said she contacted Zedekiah Train after viewing an ad in September 2022 on Pastor Oyor’s Facebook page and was responded to, but after she messaged the admin on WhatsApp, she realised the company’s name was not Zedekiah Train but Hyfex Capital.
“The admin also sent the link to a recorded video conference in which he explained what the investment was all about. Afterwards, the admin asked me how much I planned to invest,” Eyitayo told EQ.

“Immediately after I told them I had N500,000, the admin gave me an account number to pay into, which I did on October 1. After I paid, the admin sent me a memorandum of understanding, which we both signed.”
Eyitayo and Zedekiah Train agreed the company would credit her on January 1, 2023, with 21 per cent interest but reneged.
Dorcas’ proof of payment
“I decided to be patient with Zedekiah Train until March without sending any message to them, but they did not contact me. So, I was forced to contact them via mail, but there was no response,” she said.
“I sent them another email days later, but there was still no response. This was when I had to search for Pastor Godwill’s email address and phone number. I emailed him and stated my disappointment. But up until now, seven days after my message, he has not responded.”
When EQ contacted Pastor Oyor via mobile calls, his line did not connect. An Instagram message and an email were sent to him, but he did not respond at press time.
This is not the first time EQ has called him. Twice in 2023, EQ rang the pastor and his company, but neither responded. As of the time of publication, Oyor’s last three posts on Instagram have been a blend of gospel performances and teachings.
