Dana Air is yet to refund N259,200 to the daughter of Emmanuel Uzodimma, a Lagos State resident whose Abuja-to-Lagos round-trip flight was cancelled by the airline in April.
EQ had first reported the matter on August 27.
While speaking with EQ in an August 21 interview, Uzodimma had said his daughter, a graduate trainee in a commercial bank, booked the ticket for him and his wife on April 22.
“After she made the booking, I suddenly received an email from Dana Air on April 25 and it stated that the flight had been cancelled,” Uzodimma had said.
“The reason they gave was that their flight operations had been cancelled due to an operational audit carried out by the NCAA.”

The Flight Tickets Uzodimma’s Daughter Had Booked for Her Parents in April.
After the cancellation, Dana Air sent Uzodimma’s daughter a refund form to fill and she did, returning the filled document to the airline on the same day she had received it. The flight ticket she booked for her parents cost N259,200.
The graduate trainee filled out the refund form in early May. After she submitted the form, however, the airline failed to refund her.
Uzodimma told EQ that he had since made several phone calls and sent many emails to the airline, but its officials would only acknowledge them without telling him when his daughter would be refunded.

“It has been six months since the flight was cancelled and my daughter is yet to be refunded,” Uzodimma said on Tuesday.
“I am not sure that is fair. My daughter was only trying to take care of us and make us happy by booking the flights.
“She is just a graduate trainee who is trying to make ends meet. She deserves to have her money back.”
In early September, the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) announced NG Eagle, Dana Air’s new partner, would be responsible for honouring flight tickets and processing refunds for passengers affected by the suspension of the airline’s operations.
“The Authority is also aware that Dana Air customers who paid for flights that were not operated due to its suspension have sought refunds of their airfares and have been patiently waiting,” the NCAA stated.
“In line with NCAA’s regulatory obligations, the DGCA, Capt Chris Najomo, and his management team has(sic) met with Dana Air and its new partners, NG Eagle, to resolve these complaints. The resolution is that NG Eagle will be taking up this obligation.”
Uzodimma told EQ that NG Eagle had not contacted them either.
